Before cooking each type of meat, it is carefully seasoned to enhance its natural flavor, seeking the exact cooking point so that you can taste its richness in every bite; using cooking techniques designed by our chefs.

Their magnificent selection of Reservas, Grandes Reservas, and collector’s items will allow you to taste some of the best Italian and Chilean wines, as well as the best Châteu and vintages from France.

About Us
In 1976, my father gave me a ham, two cheeses, and several bottles of wine to inaugurate the restaurant, once we were granted the license to provide catering services in the Bello Rincón cave.
Almost a century before the official opening, my grandfather Nicolás Martínez Cuadrado ran a tavern located in La Garrofa, where he served daily fishing from the sea with a jábega, a small boat he used all his life.
My father Nicolás and my grandfather were road workers responsible for maintaining the Aguadulce road, the old Cañarete: a winding road between the cliffs.
In 1961, my parents moved to the Bello Rincón and opened a restaurant there. The cave already existed in this place, and after the first expansion, it became a dance hall called «Gruta Mana,» where there was a dance and musical groups every weekend, and young people gathered away from the scrutiny and gossip of the town.
La Gruta was well received from the beginning by customers, «it is something striking and spectacular», many still say, although the family objective always was and will be that people leave here satisfied, with a unique experience and that they keep the good taste to come back, in addition to our flavors.
Almería is Land of Cinema and for more than forty-five years La Gruta has lived the experience of receiving great personalities of the industry, recognized actors and actresses, bullfighters, footballers, journalists and singers. Even politicians! They always have privacy and here great agreements and deals have been signed with high-ranking businessmen, but what is said in the cave, stays in the cave.
Throughout my life it has been and continues to be a great adventure to receive all kinds of people, because here we serve with great pleasure and satisfaction to anyone who wants to get to know us. We are always waiting with a big smile and good service to offer them always the best of us.
Today, it is my son Nicolás, who not only inherits the name as a tradition, but also years of history and tasting in this wonderful cave where we have lived a multitude of pleasant experiences and events, including his wedding celebration.
